KWIKFIT WELKOM – RETURNS POLICY
Kwikfit Welkom takes pride in supplying quality products and strives to ensure that every customer is satisfied with their purchase. All items are checked before leaving our store or dispatching through courier services.
All tyres supplied by Kwikfit Welkom are covered under our Limited Warranty, which applies to manufacturing defects only.
This Returns Policy outlines how returns are handled for purchases made in-store, via courier delivery, or through our new website.
1. Are Customers Allowed to Return Items?
In general, "all sales are final". Products cannot be returned or exchanged unless they are assessed and confirmed by Kwikfit Welkom to have a manufacturing defect.
Kwikfit Welkom may, at its sole discretion, allow a return in writing. If a return is accepted:
- Returns are issued as store credit or a replacement item only.
- Shipping/courier fees and any surcharges are not refundable.
- The item must be unused, unmounted, and still in its original packaging, including labels and documentation.
- Store credit or replacements will only be processed after a full evaluation of the returned product.
· Kwikfit Welkom may deduct a reasonable restocking or handling fee from any store credit issued, to cover costs associated with the inspection and processing of the return.
Kwikfit Welkom reserves the right to decline returns even if an item is defective, should it not meet the conditions of this policy.
2. What If the Customer Receives a Defective Item?
If you believe an item has a manufacturing fault, notify us within 3 days of receiving the product by emailing admin@kwikfitwelkom.com
Your email must include:
- Photos of the fault or damaged area
- Invoice/order number
- Contact details
Kwikfit Welkom will assess the information and decide whether the item qualifies for return.
If the return is accepted in writing:
- The item must be returned within 3 days of receiving approval.
- Kwikfit Welkom will arrange collection if courier delivery was originally used.
- Once received, the item will undergo technical inspection and testing.
If the product is confirmed to have a manufacturing defect, a store credit or replacement will be issued.
If the product does not qualify as defective, it will be returned to the customer at the customer’s cost.
Returns will be rejected if:
- The item is not in its original condition.
- The problem is due to misuse, incorrect fitment, damage, improper inflation, or wear and tear.
- The item has been installed, mounted, altered, or used.
- Packaging, labels, or serial details have been removed.
Kwikfit Welkom reserves the right to decline any return that does not meet these requirements.
3. Return Timeframes for Defective Items
· Report the suspected defect within 3 days of receiving the item to qualify for assessment under Kwikfit Welkom's return process.
· Once written return approval is issued, the product must be made available for collection or returned within 3 days.
· For defects identified after 3 days, claims are governed solely by the relevant manufacturer's warranty terms and standard warranty claim procedures.
4. Who Pays for Delivery Costs?
- If the return is approved, Kwikfit Welkom will cover the cost of collecting the defective item and delivering the replacement item.
- If the return is not approved, all courier or delivery costs are the customer’s responsibility.
5. How Does Store Credit Work?
- Store credit is issued only once the item has passed Kwikfit Welkom’s defect evaluation.
- Store credit is valid for 6 months.
- Store credit cannot be exchanged for cash.
- It can be used toward any future purchase or replacement item, whether collected in-store or ordered online.
6. Estimated Return and Replacement Timeframe
• Collection of defective items: typically within approximately 3 working days after return approval, subject to courier availability.
• Evaluation / testing period: usually around 3 working days, depending on the nature of the product, supplier procedures, and manufacturer assessment processes.
• Replacement delivery: once evaluation is completed and the customer places an order using store credit, delivery of the replacement item generally takes approximately 5–7 working days, subject to stock availability and supplier or manufacturer lead times.
All timeframes provided are estimates only and are not guaranteed. Delays may occur due to factors beyond Kwikfit Welkom’s control, including but not limited to supplier response times, manufacturer processes, courier delays, or stock availability. Kwikfit Welkom shall not be held liable for delays arising from such circumstances.
These estimates are provided in good faith, particularly as our online platform is newly launched, and actual times may vary during this initial phase.
This Returns Policy applies only to purchases made within the Republic of South Africa.
IMPORTANT ADDITIONAL NOTES (NEW WEBSITE & FITMENT)
To protect both Kwikfit Welkom and customers, the following points apply to all purchases:
• “Online prices may differ from in-store prices.”
Market changes, promotions, and supplier costs may affect online and in-store pricing independently.
• “Product images on the website or social media may differ from the actual item.”
Manufacturers may update tread patterns, sidewall designs, packaging, and branding without notice.
• Kwikfit Welkom offers collection, in-store fitment, and courier delivery.
Fitment bookings are subject to availability.
• Any tyre that has been fitted, mounted, used, or driven on cannot be returned under any circumstance.
